Income Growth Blueprint

Build a confident, capable and courageous fundraising team

equipped to create the opportunities your future income depends on. And create the conditions that help them perform at their best.

The Income Growth Blueprint is a 12-month organisational programme that helps fundraising teams build the behaviours, confidence and capability that drive income, while helping their leaders create the conditions that enable those behaviours to continue.

SOUND FAMILIAR?

You know what good looks like. The challenge is making it happen consistently.

You want fundraisers who are proactive. Who get out from behind their screens and spend more time talking to supporters, prospects and partners.

People who create opportunities rather than wait for them to appear. Who are confident enough to pick up the phone, approach someone new, ask better questions and have more courageous conversations.

You want people to take ownership of their pipelines, focus on the opportunities that matter and consistently do more of the things that are likely to generate income.

You've probably already talked about this. You've encouraged more prospecting, more external conversations and greater ownership. You may have introduced KPIs.

And yet it still doesn't always happen consistently.

At the same time, the pressure to deliver isn't going away. Targets are growing. Expectations are high. And you need confidence that enough opportunities are being created today to deliver the income you'll need tomorrow.

But the answer can't simply be to push people harder.

You want people to succeed, feel confident, take ownership, and understand that creating opportunities and building a strong pipeline isn't simply about satisfying a KPI.

It's how they become more successful fundraisers, and how, together, you create the income your organisation needs.

People don't always need to be told to do more.

Sometimes they need help to do it.

There's a big difference between:

KNOWING YOU SHOULD PROSPECT

and feeling confident enough to make the approach.

KNOWING YOU NEED TO GET OUT MORE

and knowing how to turn meetings into valuable conversations.

BEING RESPONSIBLE FOR A PIPELINE

and knowing how to prioritise it, develop it and keep opportunities moving.

That's where great training can make a real difference. It can reinforce the messages you're already giving your team, provide practical tools, build confidence through action and give people the courage to have a go.

That's the first part of the Income Growth Blueprint:

Giving your fundraisers the confidence, capability and courage to do more of the things that drive income.

WHAT FUNDRAISERS LEARN

Three areas. One goal: better fundraising behaviour.

HOW YOU THINK

How you think affects how you show up.

Ownership, confidence, mindset and intentionality. Helping fundraisers understand how their thinking influences their behaviour and results.

HOW YOU WORK

Great fundraising requires more than being busy.

Prioritisation, pipeline development, prospecting, opportunity creation and the everyday habits that move fundraising forward.

HOW YOU CONNECT

Fundraising happens through relationships, and relationships are shaped by conversations.

Getting in front of more of the right people. Asking better questions. Listening properly. Understanding what matters. Communicating value. Building stronger relationships.

Together, these three areas help fundraisers become more confident, capable and courageous in the way they generate income.

But that's only half the story.

Because what happens when the training finishes?

People go back to work.

The inbox fills up. Internal meetings creep in. Something urgent comes along. Prospecting gets moved to tomorrow. The external meeting gets cancelled and isn't replaced.

Little by little, some of that initial energy can disappear. Not because people don't care. And not necessarily because they don't know what's expected of them. Often, they do.

The question is what happens when the agreed behaviour isn't happening.

Do we notice it? Talk about it? Understand what's getting in the way? Coach where support is needed? Challenge where necessary? Help people get back on track?

This is where leadership becomes so important. Because this is where the new learning meets your existing fundraising culture.

We've all heard the phrase:

“Culture eats strategy for breakfast.”

The same principle applies to training.

The culture people return to will ultimately determine whether new behaviours are reinforced, or whether old habits take over again. That's why the Income Growth Blueprint doesn't stop when the training does.

THE BLUEPRINT WORKS IN TWO WAYS

Build the capability. Create the conditions.

1

For your fundraisers

You want fundraisers who are proactive. Who get out from behind their screens and spend more time talking to supporters, prospects and partners.

2

For your leaders

Then we help leaders create the conditions that support, encourage and reinforce those behaviours back in the team.

This isn't about constant monitoring or turning every conversation into a performance conversation. It's about creating an environment where people know what matters, feel supported to succeed and know that the commitments they make matter.

Sometimes people need encouragement.

Sometimes they need coaching.

Sometimes something around them needs to change.

And sometimes they need a clear, supportive challenge:

“We agreed this was important. It's not happening. Let's understand why and work out what needs to happen next.”

That's what I mean by creating the conditions for performance.

THE PROGRAMME

How the Income Growth Blueprint works

And sometimes they need a clear, supportive challenge:

BEFORE

Prepare your leaders

Before the programme begins, leaders join me for live online leadership sessions.

We explore why training doesn't always translate into lasting change, how people learn and change behaviour, how to facilitate the programme effectively and how leaders can coach, support, reinforce and appropriately challenge their people.

Leaders know what's coming, why it matters and how to help their team get the most from it. And because creating the right environment matters, all leaders with responsibility for supporting the team can take part.

DURING

Learn together and apply it

The fundraiser programme is delivered online across 4 modules and 13 focused sessions. Wherever possible, I encourage teams to work through it together with their leader.

Each session combines learning with carefully constructed exercises, discussion and reflection, supported by a detailed Participant Workbook.

Fundraisers apply what they're learning to their real pipelines, prospects, relationships, conversations and behaviours, and decide what they're going to do differently. Teams can move through the programme at a pace that works around their fundraising commitments.

AFTER

Embed the change

When the core programme finishes, implementation begins. Every fundraiser receives a Participant Implementation Guide to use with their leader over the following six months.

It provides a structure for six embedding conversations between fundraiser and leader: what's been implemented, which behaviours are being practised, what's working, where support is needed and what comes next.

The final conversation looks back across the six months and asks the question that really matters:

What has actually changed?

The aim isn't simply to complete a programme. It's to change what people do, and help that change last.

A simple philosophy sits behind everything we do.

Knowledge creates awareness.

Action creates progress.

Consistency creates habits.

Leadership supports and embeds change.

Results follow.

That's why the Blueprint doesn't focus on the fundraiser or the leader in isolation.

It brings the two together.

What this could mean for your team

The Income Growth Blueprint is designed to help create:

More confident and proactive fundraisers

People who are more willing to get out, make approaches and create opportunities.

Stronger pipelines and more consistent opportunity creation

More focus on the activity and opportunities most likely to generate future income.

Better fundraising conversations and relationships

Fundraisers who ask better questions, listen more effectively and build stronger relationships with supporters, prospects and partners.

Greater ownership and accountability

People who understand what's expected, take responsibility for their commitments and are supported to follow through.

Stronger fundraising leadership

Leaders who feel more confident coaching, supporting, reinforcing and challenging the behaviours that matter.

Learning that makes it back into the real world

A structured approach to turning learning into action, repeated behaviour and everyday fundraising practice.

Ultimately, the goal isn't simply a team that knows more.

It's a team that consistently does more of the things that drive income.

The Income Growth Blueprint brings together fundraiser learning, leadership, implementation, coaching, accountability and continuous improvement.

Not simply training people and hoping they use it. Developing your fundraisers, and creating the conditions around them that help the right behaviours continue.

MEET CHRISTINA GRANT

Why I created the Income Growth Blueprint

I've spent more than 20 years working across sales, commercial performance, fundraising, leadership development, training and coaching.

For more than 15 years I've worked directly with fundraising teams and their leaders, from individual fundraisers through to Heads and Directors, helping people build confidence, strengthen pipelines, improve conversations and generate income.

And throughout that time, one question has always fascinated me:

Why can people know exactly what they need to do, and still not do it?

I've seen great training create a huge lift. People leave motivated, energised and determined. I've also seen how easily that lift can disappear when they return to the pressures, habits and culture they left behind.

That's why I created the Income Growth Blueprint. To bring those two things together: give people the confidence, capability and courage to do things differently, and create the conditions that help them keep doing it.

Because sustainable income growth isn't created by what people know. It's created by what they consistently do.
